The international conference of the European project Together: fighting against hate crime will be held on Tuesday 7 June. Realized with the support of the European Commission DG-Justice, the project involves the italian association Lunaria, together with the Milan Camera del Lavoro (Chamber of Workers) and the Osservatorio contro il razzismo (Observatory against racism) of the Roma Tre University, the Cypriot NGO KISA, the Czech organization Opu, and the Spanish associations SOS Racisme Catalunya and SOS Arrazakeria Gipuzkoa. The purpose of the final conference is to increase and strengthen LEAs and CSOs’ capacity to investigate and recognise hate crimes, make them visible, combat them and support victims.
The program, consisting of meetings, trainings, communication and drafting of training papers, will be presented at the Camera del Lavoro in Milan, during a conference that aims at analyzing in depth hate crimes, as well as at hearing the testimony of some victims and sharing experiences, problems and best practices.
During the roundtable discussions, the participants will tackle several topics: the situation of hate crimes in Europe, the causes impeding the issuing of racist violence reports in EU countries, the importance of the cooperation between LEAs and civil society, useful tools to make hate crime visible.
